Calgary Zoo voted best in Canada
The readers of popular site Canada.com have spoken. On August 9, they voted the Calgary Zoo Canada’s best zoo in the site’s daily poll.
The final choice was between the Toronto Zoo, with over 5,000 creatures, and the Calgary Zoo, with a mere 1,000 inhabitants. But quality trumped quantity, as the results clearly show:
Canada.com writer Mark Stachiew commented, “Perhaps ... they try harder or maybe it’s because their lion cubs are cuter.” Laurie Skene, Communications Director for the Calgary Zoo, responded, “It’s tiger cubs, but that’s okay ... Yay!”
