Account supervisor Sarah Gay is pregnant with her first child. She also loves wine. A lot. So when it came to Sarah’s baby gift, we knew it needed to involve wine. And lots of it.
The gift came in the form of 12 bottles of wine, each sporting a label commemorating baby’s milestones. Some are to be celebrated — like the first word or step — while others are more likely to drive a new mother to drink for other reasons — like the first food fight.
Big into package design, designer Shauna Luedtke loved creating the labels. Her challenge was to give such auspicious events as the first barf a sophisticated look and feel. The poonami label is her favourite. “I used Japanese wave designs to make it look really fancy and legit, but it’s secretly hilarious,” she says.
Sarah’s favourite is the temper tantrum. “I’m looking forward to that special moment,” she says. “I’ll need the whole bottle.” And if two milestones happen on the same day? “I guess I’ll have to drink them both.”
