Trigger's Zoo Campaign Takes Best of Show

CALGARY, AB - APRIL 16, 2007

Trigger Communications & Design Ltd. was awarded Best of Show for the second year running at the Ad Rodeo.

The awards ceremony, which celebrates creative excellence in Calgary, was hosted at the Currie Barracks on Friday. In total, Trigger received 10 Anvils and 12 finalist placements.

The "No Substitute" campaign produced for the Calgary Zoo continued to be a hot favourite for judges - with Anvils for Best of Show, Outdoor Series and Transit Series. Executions for this campaign were also finalists in the Outdoor Single (twice), Transit Single (three times) and Advertising Campaign categories.

Also for the Calgary Zoo, Trigger received top honours in Magazine Single for "Baby Porcupine."

Wade Harper, Manager, Marketing, at the Calgary Zoo, attended the event. He said: "Congratulations on the many wins - not only for the Zoo, but for your other clients as well. It was pretty exciting winning Best of Show, especially with No Substitute, which I think we can all agree has great staying power."

Trigger's creative for The Naval Museum of Alberta was recognized with three Anvils (Outdoor Single for "Periscope," and Transit Single and Media Innovation for "Porthole"), and a finalist placement for Outdoor Series ("Cow Radar/Periscope").

Work produced for United Way of Calgary and Area achieved two Anvils - Public Service Broadcast for the TV ad "Packing," and Best Illustration for "Immigrant/Hungry/Abused," which also earned a finalist placement for Poster Design Series.

In the Non-Traditional category, Trigger took an Anvil for "Pig," a guerrilla marketing execution for CATCO (Calgary Alternative Transportation Co-operative). Finalist placements were received for annual reports designed and produced for Celtic Exploration (Annual Report and Best Illustration) and Fort Chicago Energy Partners (Best Illustration), and also for the Scottsville Group in Non-Traditional for "Big Loads Feel Small."

Larry Bannerman, Trigger's President, said: "This was our best year at the Ad Rodeo awards so far, and we're tremendously proud of the work our team has been producing and continues to produce."

"Not all of the work we entered received awards, even though these pieces were equally worthy."

Patrick Doyle, Creative Director, said: "We have some great clients and we're very passionate about the work we produce for them. Awards are great, but we measure our success through results."

Trigger was also recognized at the recent Marketing Awards in Toronto, with Silvers for Transit Single and Point of Purchase Campaign, and a Certificate for Point of Purchase Campaign.
